# Shopify structured-data review checklist

Use this on published URLs and name every theme, app or custom snippet that emits markup. Passing a validator does not guarantee a rich result.

## Inventory

- [ ] Sample a simple product, variant product, unavailable item, article, updated article and any FAQ page.
- [ ] Search source for JSON-LD and microdata types.
- [ ] Record theme, app, tag-manager and custom emitters separately.
- [ ] Identify duplicate entities before removing anything.

## Product and variants

- [ ] Product name, URL, brand and identifiers match the visible selected item.
- [ ] Offer price, currency, availability and URL match the storefront.
- [ ] Images are representative, crawlable product images.
- [ ] Ratings and review counts have visible support.
- [ ] Shipping and return data agree with current policies.
- [ ] Variant URLs, unique IDs, properties and canonical behavior form one coherent model.
- [ ] Collection pages are not incorrectly marked as one purchasable product.

## Article

- [ ] Headline matches the visible article title.
- [ ] Publication and meaningful modification dates match the visible history and include timezone where appropriate.
- [ ] Every visible author is listed separately using Person or Organization correctly.
- [ ] Author URLs resolve to identifying pages.
- [ ] Representative images are crawlable and describe the article rather than the publisher logo.

## FAQ boundary

- [ ] FAQ content exists for readers, not as a promise of a Google rich result.
- [ ] Every marked question and answer is visible and current.
- [ ] FAQPage is not used for user-submitted competing answers.
- [ ] Reporting states that Google retired FAQ rich results on May 7, 2026; visible FAQs serve readers.

## Validation and release

- [ ] Rich Results Test result is recorded for Google feature eligibility.
- [ ] Schema Markup Validator result is recorded separately for schema.org syntax.
- [ ] Critical errors are fixed; recommended fields are added only when supported.
- [ ] Every material value is manually compared with the rendered page and source record.
- [ ] Theme-copy samples pass before normal publication.
- [ ] Public samples are retested after release and later inspected in Search Console.
- [ ] Untested markets, variants, apps and templates are listed.
- [ ] Existence, syntax, eligibility, crawl, display and performance outcomes remain separate.
