Terms of Service
Effective 8 September 2026.
These terms govern your use of the Citelift Shopify app, an invited Citelift WooCommerce and WordPress beta, and this website, operated by Siddesh Patil. Installing or connecting the service means you accept them, and the Data Processing Addendum that comes with them.
1. What the service does
Citelift plans, writes and publishes SEO articles to the blog of the Shopify store you install it on or the WordPress site you connect, links those articles to your products, and measures whether AI assistants name your store when buyers ask about your category. You keep control of what is published: review-hold settings, banned terms and the publishing cadence are yours to set.
2. Your account and your store
You must have authority to install apps or plugins on the store and to publish to its blog. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you tell the app about your brand, and for keeping your Shopify account secure.
3. Subscription and billing
Shopify. Subscriptions are sold through the Shopify Billing API and appear on the Shopify invoice you already receive. Prices are shown on our pricing page and are exclusive of any tax Shopify collects. A plan renews automatically at the interval you chose until you cancel.
A seven-day free trial is available on a store's first subscription. You start it by approving your plan through Shopify Billing, in your own Shopify admin. We do not ask you for a card and we never hold your card details; Shopify holds the payment relationship, as it does for every other app subscription on your store. Nothing is charged during the seven days. At the end of the trial the plan you approved begins automatically at the price shown on the pricing page for that plan and interval, and renews from then on. Cancel before the trial ends and you are not charged at all.
Cancelling is one click, from Settings or from your Shopify admin. The subscription ends immediately through Shopify Billing: access stops at that point rather than at the end of the period, and the articles already published stay on your store. Cancelling is not itself a refund — refunds are section 4.
Invited WooCommerce and WordPress beta. Connecting, compatibility checks and catalog inspection do not start a trial or use AI generation. If WordPress billing is enabled for your invited account, Starter and Core monthly plans use Dodo Payments hosted checkout. $1 USD due today for your seven-day trial. Your seven-day trial starts when your $1 payment is confirmed. Unless you cancel first, your selected plan renews at its full price on day 8. A payment method is required, and trial generation is capped at two original drafts total. Use the site's Citelift workspace to open the hosted billing portal or request cancellation; cancellation remains pending until the provider confirms it. Growth and annual plans are unavailable unless the checkout explicitly offers them. Connecting a second production site requires a separate subscription.
4. Refunds
The following policy applies to subscriptions billed through Shopify:
- Monthly plans: a full refund within 7 days of the first charge, on request by email to support@citelift.app.
- Annual plans: refundable pro rata within the first 30 days.
- Beyond those windows we do not refund part-used periods.
Because Shopify's Billing API has no refund mutation, part of a refund may be issued as a credit by Shopify and the remainder paid by us directly. We record every request either way.
For subscriptions billed through Dodo, the $1 USD paid trial payment is non-refundable except where applicable law or your card issuer's rules require otherwise. The first full monthly plan charge is refundable on request within 7 days. If an annual plan is later explicitly offered through Dodo, it follows the same 30-day pro-rata window as the equivalent Shopify annual plan. Beyond those windows we do not refund part-used periods. Contact support@citelift.app to request an eligible refund; a Dodo refund is complete only after the provider confirms it.
5. Your content, and who owns it
You own everything the app produces for your store — articles, summaries, artwork and schema — from the moment it is created, and you keep it after you cancel or uninstall. We claim no licence to it beyond what we need to generate, publish and display it inside the app, and to keep backups.
You grant us permission to read your catalog, blog and order journey fields for those purposes only.
6. AI-generated content, and your responsibility to review it
Articles are drafted by large language models. Models make mistakes: they invent facts, misstate ingredients, and produce claims that a regulator would treat as health or efficacy claims. The app runs automated quality gates and honours the banned terms and claim rules you configure, but automated gates are not a substitute for your review.
You are the publisher. Before anything reaches your customers you are responsible for checking that it is accurate, that it complies with the advertising, labelling and health-claim rules of the markets you sell in, and that it does not infringe anyone's rights. The review-hold setting exists so you can do that; if you turn it off, that is your decision.
We disclose in the app which content is AI-generated, and articles carry that disclosure until you remove it.
7. Acceptable use
You may not use the service to publish anything unlawful, deceptive, defamatory, infringing or hateful; to make medical, therapeutic or financial claims you are not entitled to make; to impersonate another brand; to generate content for a store you do not control; or to attack, overload or reverse engineer the service. We may suspend an account that does, and will tell you why.
8. No guarantee of results
SEO and AI-assistant citation depend on Google, ChatGPT, Perplexity and others, none of whom we control and all of whom change their systems without notice. We do not promise any ranking, any traffic level, any citation, or any revenue. Figures on our site describe what has happened, not what will.
Where the service reports AI-assistant answers, those answers are collected through the vendors' APIs and can differ from what their consumer apps show.
9. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service running but do not promise uninterrupted availability. We may change features, and will give notice of a change that materially reduces what a paid plan provides.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows: the service is provided "as is" and we disclaim all implied warranties; we are not liable for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss; and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to it.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
11. Termination
You may uninstall at any time. We may terminate for a material breach of these terms that you do not fix within 14 days of notice. On termination your data is erased on the schedule in the Privacy Policy; your published articles remain yours and remain on your store.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection you have where you live.
