example.com › blogs › journal › konjac-sponge-vs-washcloth

Konjac sponge vs washcloth: which suits oily skin?

A konjac sponge is softer than most washcloths and needs replacing every one to three months. Here is how the two compare for oily and sensitive skin.

Title: 50 characters, about 449px of roughly 600px. Description: 150 characters, about 944px of roughly 985px. Desktop estimate; phones show less, and Google may rewrite either line.

The title is the question a buyer asks, and the description answers it in the first sentence, which is what both a searcher and an answer engine look for.

None of these lines is a ranking formula. They show a page type, a buyer’s words and one fact worth choosing on, in the space a result gives you. Google decides whether to show them as written.

How it works.

  1. Paste a title and a meta description

From a Shopify product, collection, page or blog post, or from any other site. Add the page URL and the search phrase you care about if you want them in the preview and the checks. Nothing is stored.

  2. The widths are estimated in pixels

Google cuts a desktop title near 600 pixels and a snippet near 985, not at a fixed number of characters. The checker measures each character with Arial's widths, the font Google's results use, so a title of wide capitals and one of narrow letters are judged differently.

  3. See the result as a searcher would

The preview shows where each line is likely to end, with the cut marked. The checks report length, width, keyword position, repeated words and shouting, each with the count it found.

  4. Edit it in Shopify

For a product or collection, open it and choose the pencil icon on Search engine listing. For a page, use Edit website SEO; for the homepage, Online Store > Preferences. Google may still rewrite either line for a particular search.

Questions about this tool.

How long should an SEO title be?
Shopify advises 60 characters or fewer, and Google cuts a desktop title near 600 pixels, which is usually 50 to 60 characters. Wide letters such as W and M use up the space faster than i and l, which is why this checker measures pixels as well as characters.
How long should a meta description be?
Shopify recommends up to 160 characters. Google usually shows about 985 pixels of a desktop snippet and less on a phone, so put the fact a buyer chooses on in the first half.
Will Google show my title and description exactly?
Not always. Google can rewrite a title or pick a different snippet from the page when it judges that a better match for the search. A clear, accurate title and description make that less likely, but no checker can promise how a result will look.
Does a perfect score improve rankings?
No. The score is the share of these editorial checks that pass. It does not fetch your page, compare it with competitors or predict rankings, clicks or AI citations.
