Best LLM and ChatGPT SEO tools for ecommerce

LLM SEO tools for online stores: AI SEO tools that track ChatGPT and other answers, optimise pages or publish, with prices checked 15 October 2026.

The best LLM SEO tools for ecommerce: Otterly.AI for cheap monthly tracking of ChatGPT and AI Overviews, Peec AI for catalogue-level tracking, Ahrefs Brand Radar or Semrush if you already pay for either, and Frase for page optimisation. Citelift is not the deepest tracker; it suits Shopify and WooCommerce stores wanting product-linked articles plus a ChatGPT check.

Best LLM SEO tools, ranked

  1. Otterly.AI, best low-cost tracker. Lite is $29 a month for 15 prompts and includes four engines without add-ons.
  2. Peec AI, best for product-level tracking. Its pricing page names a product catalogue "Fetched from Shopify, or uploaded as a CSV" for SKU-level tracking, though it does not say which plans include it.
  3. Ahrefs Brand Radar, best if you already pay for Ahrefs. Paid Ahrefs plans include 5 to 20 tracked AI prompts.
  4. SE Ranking, best SEO suite with AI tracking and a trial. Core includes 100 prompts tracked daily, with a 14-day trial. Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit has no free trial.

  6. Citelift, best for Shopify and WooCommerce stores that want articles published. It writes product-linked articles from your catalogue, publishes them and checks whether ChatGPT names your store. It is not a multi-engine tracker.
  7. Profound, best for large brands. Enterprise covers up to nine answer engines and ChatGPT Shopping; the price is set by sales.
  8. Rankscale, lowest headline price. Essentials is $17 a month, but only on a yearly plan.

What an LLM SEO tool is, and what it is not

LLM SEO is the work of making a site easy for assistants such as ChatGPT to find, read and cite when they answer. The tools sold under that label split into two groups, and most confusion comes from mixing them up.

  • Tools that measure. A tracker asks a fixed set of questions in chosen engines on a schedule, then records whether your brand was named, which pages were cited and who appeared instead. That record is your LLM visibility. Otterly.AI, Peec AI, Profound, Brand Radar, Semrush's toolkit, SE Ranking, LLMrefs and Rankscale all sit here.
  • Tools that change pages. Content tools such as Frase, Surfer and Writesonic help you write or rework pages so a passage can be lifted into an answer. Publishing tools put new pages live. Crawler tools decide which bots may read the site.

A tracker does not change a single page. A content tool does not tell you whether answers changed. Several vendors now bundle a small tracker with a content product, so read which job the plan you are pricing actually covers. The AEO tools guide sorts the same market into six jobs, including structured data apps for Shopify.

How to choose AI SEO tools by job and budget

Start with the job, then the budget.

  • You want to know whether AI answers mention you. Buy a tracker. With a small budget and a short list of buyer questions, Otterly.AI's Lite plan is billed monthly. If you already pay for Ahrefs or SE Ranking, price the AI features you may already have before adding another subscription. Read the unit before the price: some vendors sell prompts refreshed daily, some weekly, and some sell credits that run out faster on more engines. The AI visibility tools comparison has a buying checklist for exports, missing runs and cache handling.
  • You mainly care about Google. AI Overviews and AI Mode sit on top of ordinary Google results, so the trackers that focus on them are compared in the AI Overview trackers guide.
  • You want pages that answer buyer questions. A content tool helps a writer. None of the content tools above said on its pricing page that it publishes straight to a Shopify blog, so plan to copy drafts across.
  • You want the articles written and published for you. That is the job Citelift does for Shopify stores and, through a WordPress plugin, for WooCommerce stores. It plans buyer questions from your catalogue, writes articles that link the products they discuss, checks product facts before publishing, then checks whether ChatGPT names your store and reports that beside article-attributed orders. Plans start at $49 a month.
  • You want proof before you pay. Run the free checks in the next sections first, or keep a manual panel using the method in how to measure AI visibility for your store.

Budget for the work after the dashboard. A tracker that shows you missing from answers is only useful if someone then fixes the pages, the crawler access or the product facts.

ChatGPT SEO tools: what you can do for ChatGPT specifically

Most "ChatGPT SEO tools" are trackers that include ChatGPT among their engines. The things that decide whether ChatGPT can use your pages at all need no paid tool.

  1. Let OAI-SearchBot in. OAI-SearchBot is the crawler ChatGPT uses for its search features. ChatGPT's crawler documentation says sites that opt out of it will not be shown in ChatGPT search answers, and that a robots.txt change can take about 24 hours to apply. It is separate from GPTBot, the training crawler, so you can allow search while declining training. Check robots.txt and any bot protection or CDN rule in front of the store, because either can refuse the crawler. The free AI robots.txt generator writes the rules.
  2. Make the pages worth fetching indexable. A page that returns an error, sits behind a login, carries noindex or is missing from your sitemap is hard for any search crawler to use. Articles that answer one buyer question near the top, with the product named and linked, give an assistant something to quote.
  3. Check what ChatGPT actually says. Ask the buyer questions your customers ask, with search on, and note which brands are named and which pages are cited. Citelift's free check does this for three questions in your category with no sign-in. One answer on one day is a single observation, so repeat the same questions before drawing conclusions.
  4. Keep product data consistent. For ChatGPT Shopping, Shopify stores are also represented through Shopify Catalog, a separate route from the web crawl. The agentic storefronts guide covers it.

The ChatGPT recommendation guide goes further on what a store can change.

Free LLM SEO tools

You can cover the first questions without paying.

  • Ahrefs Free AI Visibility Checker. No signup and no card. Its FAQ says it checks ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode, and shows a limited preview (top 5 results per section) as a one-time snapshot (Ahrefs checker).
  • SE Ranking's free AI visibility check. Run from its tracker page, with 5 free checks a day.
  • Citelift's free check. No sign-in. It asks ChatGPT three buyer questions for your category, with web search on, and shows who was named and which sources were cited.
  • Citelift's manual checker. The manual checker prepares buyer questions and analyses an answer you paste, without an account or a model call.
  • Crawler and llms.txt helpers. The free AI robots.txt generator and llms.txt generator, and LLMrefs' free llms.txt generator. llms.txt is an optional proposal; Google says you do not need AI text files to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode.

A free check tells you whether a paid tracker is worth it. It is not a schedule, and it samples a handful of answers.

Method, limits and disclosure

  • What we did. We read each vendor's own pricing or product page on 15 October 2026 and printed the starting price, trial and engines as shown. Where a page did not state something, the table says so.
  • What we did not do. We did not buy, run or benchmark any of these tools, and we make no claim about the accuracy of their data. No tool can promise that an assistant will mention or cite your store.
  • Prices move. Several vendors show different prices for monthly and yearly billing, and some show local currencies. Check the vendor's own page before you buy.
  • Who wrote this. Citelift publishes this guide and appears in the list. It is new: listed on the Shopify App Store since 5 October 2026, with no merchant results we can show yet. Its ChatGPT checks go through a search-backed model API, which can differ from what a shopper sees in the ChatGPT app.

Questions.

What are LLM SEO tools?

Software for one part of being found by AI assistants such as ChatGPT: tracking whether answers name or cite you, optimising pages so they can be quoted, publishing pages that answer buyer questions, or managing crawler access. Most tools do one or two of these jobs, so buy by the job you need done.

What is the cheapest LLM SEO tool?

Of the paid tools we checked on 15 October 2026, Rankscale had the lowest headline price, Essentials at $17 a month, billed yearly only. Billed monthly, Otterly.AI's Lite plan was the lowest at $29 a month for 15 prompts. Free checkers from Ahrefs, SE Ranking and Citelift give a one-off look without paying.

Are there free ChatGPT SEO tools?

Yes. Ahrefs' free AI visibility checker needs no signup, Citelift's free check asks ChatGPT three buyer questions with no sign-in, and a robots.txt generator helps you allow OAI-SearchBot, the crawler ChatGPT search depends on. None of them is a schedule of repeated checks.

Is Citelift an LLM SEO tracker?

Only in part. Citelift checks ChatGPT only, on a schedule set by your plan, and reports the result beside article-attributed orders. Its main job is planning, writing and publishing product-linked articles for Shopify and WooCommerce stores. For many prompts across many engines, a dedicated tracker does more.

Can an LLM SEO tool get my store cited by ChatGPT?

No tool can promise that. The assistant chooses its sources. A tracker measures answers, and content or publishing tools change your pages; neither controls what an engine cites. Allowing the right crawlers and answering real buyer questions on indexable pages is the part you control.
