Review hold

Citelift's state for an article a merchant must approve before it publishes: chosen by the merchant for every article, or forced when a quality gate fails a second time.

Review hold is where an article waits for a person. A merchant can turn it on for every article, in which case each draft sits for 24 hours with an approve link and an edit link in the email before anything goes live, or the loop can force it: when a draft fails one of the ten quality gates, it is regenerated once, and if the second draft fails too it is held with the reason shown rather than published or silently dropped. Missing media is not one of the reasons: when no hero image can be verified and no relevant video is found, the article still publishes and the draft states what it went out without. Neither is the editorial read, which annotates the draft with what a second reader thought of it and holds nothing while its thresholds are being calibrated. A held article keeps everything the pipeline learned, so the merchant sees which gate failed and why, and can publish, regenerate or skip. Skipped items are remembered so the same question is not planned again. The state exists because the wrong article on a store's own blog costs more than a late one, and because an automated system that cannot say "I am not sure about this one" should not be publishing under your name. The editorial-control walkthrough shows how draft review, approval and publication fit together.
